Turbinado Sugar? PDF Print E-mail
Dr. BBQ,

What is turbinado sugar and where can I find it? I am putting together your basic BBQ rub for some baby back ribs I am going to cook. I am going to cook them your way, I can hardly wait. I am very familiar with Lakeland, Florida, because I have lived there before and am now living in Plant City, Florida. Thanks,

Hi Toby:

Turbinado sugar is widely available under the brand name "Sugar In The Raw" but also under some other brands. If all else fails try the health food store. It"s similar to brown sugar but doesn"t burn as easily so many BBQers like it. BTW there is a great BBQ Cookoff in Plant City, Florida in November. Contact the Chamber of Commerce for the info.
